Talk:Gran Simulacro plate 7

From WMAwiki

We were talking about how, potentially, the original work did not have the figures marked with letters, and that the letters were added afterwards. Obviously, this isn't the case, as this plate shows: the description of the play uses phrases like "the figure marked C". --Adam Lein 15:50, 30 August 2007 (CDT)

Featured article

This should be a featured article, as it is nearly complete and illustrates a variety of features unique to this wiki. I think it should be our goal to make this a featured article by Monday, Sept 24. --Adam 12:17, 21 September 2007 (CDT)

  • I'm into that. Not sure if I'll have time tonight but perhaps tomorrow after your class we can take some more shots. Devon Boorman 13:47, 21 September 2007 (CDT)

TODO: featured article

  • Photographs (seven in total):
    • Initial stringering on the inside line, clearly showing the invitation (two shots: from the side and from the perspective of the patient).
    • Patient having been struck in the left eye, having disengaged to lunge in third.
    • Intelligent play
      • two shots: true-edge parry (cropped to show only swords) & imbrocatta
      • two shots: false-edge parry (cropped to show only swords) & mandritto
  • Three videos (basic play, two intelligent plays)
    • maybe: cropped to show only swords? This might be preferable because the videos are of a lower quality, generally, than photos. Only problem is that the fencers are moving forward, so the camera will have to track them.
  • red links: lunge
  • Suggestion for photos/videos: use three people: A, B, and C. A disengages in third and is wounded by B. C is a more experienced player than A; while C is feinting in third, A lies dead at B's feet :) Adam 12:10, 22 September 2007 (CDT)
